What is so sad with these sit down long arms is the oversized. head that blocks your field of vision, it is the worst ergonomic set up possible, the whole point of a long arm is to reduce body fatigue, blocking your field of view defeats this. You’d have to sit with this machine sideways to eliminate this problem however that leaves you with less open space to quilt. I don’t know if Bernina did this for branding purposes or engineering purposes but I don’t think Bernina can be competitive in this space because of this design. Any ergonomic specialist could have pointed this out if they were brought into the design process early on.
Dear Scottish Bunny, there are certainly different opinions about the orientation of a longarm machine for sit down quilting. Still we are certain that our many customers appreciate the Q Series machines with all command and visional features comfortably orientated to the front and easy to reach, leaving great space on all sides of the machine to quilt even the largest quilt projects especially in combination with a suspension system.
Getting my Q16 in three weeks. Can’t wait. A beautiful machine😍.
